Royal Family Begins Peace Talks with Harry—But Still Says ‘No’ to Meghan
It looks like things might be starting to thaw between Prince Harry and the Royal Family—but not for Meghan Markle.
According to recent reports, King Charles’s team and Prince Harry’s team have finally opened a line of communication after years of silence. This private meeting between senior aides marks the beginning of what insiders are calling a "first phase of peace talks."
The meeting happened at a private club, not in any royal palace, which shows they’re keeping things low-key. From Harry’s side, his new communications officer Meredith Maines and PR head Liam Maguire attended. On the Royal Family’s side, Tobyn Andreae, the Queen’s Communications Secretary, was present.
A royal source told the Daily Mail that while it’s a small step, it’s important: "A channel of communication is now open for the first time in years." So yes—talks are happening, but this is just the beginning.
However, when it comes to Meghan Markle, the mood is very different.
Another insider told the Express that the Royal Family still doesn’t trust Meghan. Despite trying to mend things with Harry, they are reportedly keeping Meghan out of these talks. The source didn’t mince words: “They just don’t trust her.”
This isn't too surprising to many. After Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in 2020, the couple has made waves with public interviews and Harry’s tell-all memoir, Spare—where they openly criticized royal life and specific family members. That drama still lingers.
So, what does this all mean?
The Royal Family may be open to welcoming Harry back in some way, but they're not ready to let Meghan in. At least, not yet.
For now, these peace talks seem to be more about father and son, and less about the couple.
