Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are still struggling to win back the public’s approval in the UK — and a new survey shows just how tough things are for them.
A recent YouGov poll found that only 28% of people in Britain have a positive view of Prince Harry, and an even lower 20% feel the same about Meghan Markle. That’s tied for Meghan’s lowest rating ever recorded. These numbers haven’t really improved since May, meaning their image problem hasn’t shifted much at all.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe told The Mirror that Meghan tends to attract a lot of criticism in the UK, no matter what she does. If she speaks out, people judge her. If she stays quiet, people still judge her. He also described her as an emotional person who takes things personally, which can make the constant negativity even harder to handle.
Larcombe also commented on the couple’s recent public appearances and outreach attempts, calling them a “charm offensive.” But in his view, these moves have come “far too late” to change how the public sees them.
