With Love, Meghan (Netflix): Is the show really filmed in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's house?
This Tuesday, March 4th, Meghan Markle's new show is finally released on Netflix. In it, she prepares meals for guests in a beautiful house in California. But is it really hers?
Getting close to the royal family is a dream for many, and it's about to become (a little) reality, starting this Tuesday, March 4th. Prince Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, is releasing a new series on Netflix. After the documentary Harry & Meghan, which showed the couple's strength in the face of royal scandals and their move to the United States, the actress, now the Duchess of Sussex, returns to the platform. In the eight episodes of With Love, Meghan, she invites celebrities to cook, garden, and chat. While one might think that filming took place in the royal couple's home, that's not actually the case. As revealed by the American website People last January, the show With Love, Meghan was filmed in a house in Montecito, California, not far from the home of the couple and their two children.
Meghan Markle welcomes her friends in With Love, Meghan, her new Netflix show. In With Love, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex welcomes a host of high-profile guests. These include actress Abigail Spencer, who co-starred with Meghan Markle in Suits, as well as chefs Alice Waters and Roy Choi. Other friends of the royal couple also make appearances in the series. Mindy Kaling (creator of The Sex Lives of College Girls, and also The Leader, currently on Netflix) is among this select group. In January, she shared some information about the filming with the American website Deadline. “I was on maternity leave when Meghan texted me saying, ‘Do you want to be on my show, come to Montecito, and let me cook for you?’” She said she was “very impressed” by the Duchess’s cooking skills. “She has a garden where she grows everything—I could never do that—and she has chickens. They would all die if I tried to take care of chickens.”
Will Prince Harry make an appearance on With Love, Meghan? Mindy Kaling also revealed that Harry was around that day but didn’t participate in preparing the dish. “I heard he’s a good cook. He knows his way around the kitchen,” she added. So we should also see him in the series. The show was originally scheduled for release on January 15th. The wildfires that ravaged California prompted Meghan Markle and Netflix to postpone the release date out of respect.
