PR consultant Olivia Bell told The Express that while the news may make headlines, it doesn’t necessarily indicate a serious setback. She explained that collaborations in the entertainment and streaming industry are often fluid, and high-profile partnerships naturally attract more attention when plans shift.
“Netflix’s decision will certainly generate media coverage, but it doesn’t mean the Sussex brand is in jeopardy,” Bell said. “Deals like these are dynamic, especially when expectations on both sides are high. The real focus should be on what comes next.”
Bell added that Meghan and Harry are still defining their post-royal identity. When a project doesn’t immediately perform as expected, it can appear as though they are starting over. “In reality, there are usually multiple opportunities developing behind the scenes, but a partner like Netflix draws the spotlight when changes happen,” she noted.
“From a public relations perspective, this is fully recoverable,” Bell continued. “Meghan has been carving out her presence in lifestyle and wellness for some time. The priority now is demonstrating that As Ever can thrive independently.”
She also emphasized that Meghan will always attract media attention, which brings both scrutiny and opportunity. “What may seem like a setback to the public is often just part of a broader business journey. There are likely other initiatives already underway, even if they aren’t yet visible.”
