Meghan Markle is reportedly gearing up to make a major impression in Australia as she and Prince Harry prepare for their upcoming visit.
According to new claims, Meghan has set what many see as a direct challenge for Kate Middleton, the future Queen of Britain — a title that will also extend to Australia when Prince William eventually takes the throne. Australia is one of 15 Commonwealth realms where the British monarch also serves as Head of State, independent of his role within the United Kingdom.
Despite this, insiders say Meghan is ready to “take Australia by storm” during her trip Down Under later this month.
A report from In Touch Weekly suggests that Meghan is positioning herself to win over Australian audiences, with one insider revealing, “Meghan genuinely believes she can become Australia’s new Queen of Hearts,” framing it as a bold contrast to Princess Kate.
The source adds that Meghan has already filed multiple trademarks ahead of launching her product lines, noting, “She’s very excited.”
Another insider explained the strategy behind her confidence: “It’s widely known that many Australians aren’t strong supporters of the royal family. Meghan believes that gives her and Harry a natural advantage — she thinks Australians will be much more welcoming to them than people in England.”
Meghan reportedly feels that she and Harry could present themselves as a “modern alternative” to the traditional monarchy, and sees this trip as a valuable opportunity. “This tour is a chance to test the waters,” the source said.
Royal expert Richard Palmer also weighed in, suggesting that the couple may view the high-profile visit as an opportunity to push back against critics who have spent years undermining them.
