King Charles is once again being urged by some critics to step in, after accusations surfaced that Meghan is referencing Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s royal titles in her business activities.
The Duchess of Sussex recently introduced Mother’s Day-themed candles under her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Some of the product names reportedly include references such as “Prince Archie of Sussex’s Birthdate” and “Princess Lilibet of Sussex’s Birthdate,” sparking debate online.
Many social media users argue that this approach contradicts the agreement made by Meghan and Prince Harry when they stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020. As part of that arrangement, the couple committed to not using their royal status for commercial gain.
Following the launch, criticism quickly spread across platforms like X (formerly Twitter). One user wrote that using the children’s titles to promote products was “disgraceful,” while also suggesting that King Charles was allowing the situation to continue unchecked.
Another commenter accused Meghan of “exploiting her children’s titles” for commercial purposes, calling the move embarrassing and unnecessary.
Others directly appealed to the monarch, questioning why he has not intervened or reconsidered the use of the Sussex titles, arguing that it conflicts with the intentions set during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
Some posts were even more critical, with one user expressing frustration at what they described as a lack of action from the King, suggesting he should take a firmer stance regarding the ongoing use of royal titles in public and commercial contexts.
