According to reports, the situation has left Andrew feeling deeply unsettled and increasingly concerned about his personal safety. The incident is said to have occurred while he was walking his dogs in the Sandringham area, where a man allegedly wearing a balaclava confronted and threatened him. Although no physical harm was reported, the encounter has sparked renewed anxiety within the former royal’s circle.
Sources suggest that Prince Harry feels Andrew, despite his controversial reputation and removal from royal duties, still deserves a higher level of protection in light of recent events. This stance comes as discussions about Andrew’s security arrangements resurface once again.
Royal commentator Helena Chard, speaking to Fox News, explained that the confrontation has reportedly left Andrew “shaken and worried” about what could happen in the future. She added that there are growing rumours suggesting he wishes to have his previous security arrangements reinstated.
Although Andrew was not physically harmed during the encounter, his private security officer is said to have handled the situation and its aftermath. It is also understood that his current living arrangements at Marsh Farm are being funded by the King, along with support from former royal protection officers who are reportedly unarmed and partially based on the property.
However, Chard noted that while reviewing security concerns is reasonable, any suggestion of restoring full armed Metropolitan Police protection is likely to face strong public opposition. She emphasized that such a change is unlikely to happen, stating that his security status has effectively been settled.
In her view, the ongoing debate over Andrew’s protection will likely continue from time to time, but no significant changes are expected. For now, she suggests, Andrew remains cautious and will continue living with heightened awareness of his surroundings.
