One social media user commented that although a simpler style can work beautifully, the dress did not appear perfectly fitted. Others even suggested that it might have benefited from additional last-minute adjustments before the ceremony.
However, fashion professionals point out that such changes are entirely possible. Mara Urshel, co-owner of Kleinfeld Bridal Boutique, explained that bridal alterations can be made very close to the wedding day if needed. She noted that clients often request last-minute tweaks, whether tightening or loosening certain areas, and that these adjustments can be completed quickly and effectively by experienced staff.
According to experts, even small changes such as adjusting seams or modifying sleeve fit can be done shortly before the ceremony without issue. This flexibility means that if Meghan had wanted a different fit, alterations could have been made right up until the final hours.
It is also suggested that the slightly relaxed fit may have been intentional, allowing ease of movement and comfort during a long and highly public ceremony that involved walking, sitting, and navigating stairs.
Despite the debate, fashion commentator Carson Kressley praised Meghan’s bridal look, describing it as simple, chic, elegant, and most importantly, modern.
