According to multiple reports, the Duke of Sussex has been left feeling “deeply hurt and humiliated” after being excluded from the guest list for his cousin Peter Phillips’ upcoming wedding. Sources claim that Harry, along with Meghan Markle, Prince Andrew, and Sarah Ferguson, have not been invited to the ceremony scheduled for next month.
While Harry is said to have gradually drifted apart from Peter over the years, senior royals such as Prince William, Princess Catherine, and other members of the royal family are expected to attend the event.
Insiders speaking to Closer magazine suggest that Prince Harry “genuinely didn’t believe it would come to this,” highlighting his surprise over the exclusion.
A close source added that the situation has been particularly painful for Harry, especially as he is understood to be hoping for reconciliation with his family. The insider noted that being left out of Peter Phillips’ wedding represents “one of the deepest blows yet” for him emotionally.
They also explained that Harry once shared a warm bond with Peter during their upbringing, describing him as one of the more grounded and trustworthy figures within the royal circle, which makes the exclusion even more difficult to accept.
Since stepping down as a senior royal in 2020 and relocating to the United States with Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Harry’s relationship with the royal family has remained strained.
The ongoing rift, which began around 2020, has been widely discussed in public. Prince Harry has spoken about his experiences in several high-profile interviews, including his 2021 conversation with Oprah Winfrey, and further expanded on the situation in his 2023 memoir Spare.
