Former Prince Andrew was recently seen with a noticeable and unexplained bruise on his face during a rare public appearance near the Sandringham estate.
On June 4, the 66-year-old was photographed driving close to his Marsh Farm residence on the royal estate, with images showing a prominent purple mark stretching from his right temple across his eye and down his cheek. The photos, taken through his car window, quickly drew attention due to the visible discoloration.
According to a source speaking to the Daily Mail, the mark is not considered a “cause for concern,” and there was said to be “no drama” surrounding the situation. However, the insider did not provide additional details, citing medical privacy.
At this stage, it is not confirmed how or when Andrew—now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor after losing his royal titles—may have sustained the mark. The Times reported that the bruise is believed to be linked to a non-serious medical condition.
Andrew has been residing at the Sandringham Estate since February, initially staying at Wood Farm, previously associated with Prince Philip, before relocating to Marsh Farm in April after renovations were completed.
His move followed his removal from Royal Lodge, his long-term residence in Windsor Great Park, after King Charles formally stripped him of his remaining royal titles in late 2025. The decision came amid renewed scrutiny over his past association with Jeffrey Epstein, which has continued to attract public and media attention. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Separately, he was previously questioned by authorities over allegations related to misconduct in public office, connected to claims involving the sharing of confidential information during his time as a UK trade envoy. He was released after several hours of questioning, while investigations remain ongoing.
In a later update, Thames Valley Police confirmed that inquiries are still active and have expanded to include broader allegations of misconduct.
