Archie Harrison: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Prince Harry introduce their first child
The Dukes of Sussex, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle showed their son for the first time on Wednesday.
It was in a brief appearance before the media at Windsor Castle.
After days of expectations, however, the title that the couple's firstborn will carry is still unknown.
The new member of the family also met his great-grandmother, Queen II of England on Wednesday.
The couple had previously explained that it would take a few days to reveal the name and face of the new member of the family, who was born on Monday, because they wanted privacy during the arrival of their son and celebrate it as a family.
In her brief meeting with the press to present the newborn, wrapped in a white shawl, Markle said: "He has a very sweet temperament, he is really calm. He has been splendid."
As they both laughed, Prince Harry said, "I don't know who he got that from."
About their first days as parents, the Duchess of Sussex was really happy with her role as a mother.
"It's magical, it's quite amazing. I have the two best men in the world, so I'm really happy."
Prince Harry added: "It's great. Raising your kids is amazing. It's only been two and a half days, three days, but we are delighted to have our little source of joy."
The baby was born last Monday with a weight of 3.26 kilos.
He ranks seventh in the line of succession to the UK throne, behind the Prince of Wales (Charles), the Duke of Cambridge (William) and their children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - and the Duke of Sussex.
