Melania Trump "bitter and jealous" of new first lady Jill Biden
Former US First Lady Melania Trump remained "jealous" of the popularity of her successor Jill Biden in the press.
While former President Donald Trump was authorized to incite the deadly riots on the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, his wife is said to be "bitter and cold" towards him after they leave the White House.
Sources told CNN that the former model lamented the positive media attention to Ms Biden, who was pictured alongside her husband on the cover of People magazine last week.
The couple also recorded a message that aired ahead of the Super Bowl last weekend.
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who was previously Ms Trump's senior advisor, told CNN it was not due to media bias - Ms Trump is extremely private.
“Melania intentionally didn't do the press as a defense mechanism,” she said, “she and I were always discussing that reasoning and that's why it was all choreographed or emailed, or it just happened to be. they were "approved" quotes or statements that I would write often.
Ms Trump has deliberately kept a low profile and declined interviews - but now appears to question that tactic and blame others.
She left the White House with the lowest popularity rating on record for a first lady in polling history.
Some of her staff resigned following the riots on the U.S. Capitol, and she also did not write her own thank you notes before stepping down as first lady.
Ms. Trump did not give Ms. Biden a tour of the White House, which is a long-standing tradition between outgoing and incoming First Ladies, and the two reportedly did not speak to each other.
The Assets also did not attend Joe Biden's presidential inauguration last month.
When the presidency ended, the couple returned to Florida with their 14-year-old son - but not everyone welcomed them.
Sources also added that Ms. Trump had returned to a life free from politics and Congress.

One said, “She's going to the spa, having lunch, going (again) to the spa and having dinner with Donald on the patio. Rinse and repeat. Everyday.'
“It's pretty much the same as before [she was first lady] or even when she went down on vacation,” added another.
Ms Trump is reportedly opening a new office and hopes to resume her Be Best campaign to help children.
