Trump's rudeness: he will leave the White House before Biden arrives so as not to take over
Both he and Melania will break the tradition in which the outgoing president teaches his successor the official residence.
Donald Trump will be, until his last second in the White House, a sore loser. Both he and Melania Trump will be absent at the welcome to the official residence of the president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, breaking tradition.
It is a ritual in the transition between presidents. One more formal step that the outgoing president has decided not to respect in which the new tenant is usually welcomed. After that, and starting from the North Portico of the building, a path together to the Capitol should wait for them.
Instead of Trump, the official welcome will be given by Chief White House usher Timothy Harleth, The Mercury Times reports, citing a source from the organization and planning of the event. Harleth will be replaced by someone close to Biden shortly. Something radically different from the warm welcomes that presidents have given each other until now.

What would have been an image of a break with Trump's post-election 'war' that led to the assault on the Capitol has resulted in a further slight to Biden. According to the same media, Trump doubts whether or not to leave a letter to his successor in the Oval Office.
Biden, on its opening day, will participate in a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, along with former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. There they will place flower offerings at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier while his possessions are moved to and placed in his home for the next four years. Likewise, what belongs to Trump will be removed and the building will be thoroughly cleaned.
Melania and Jill
The first lady of the United States, Melania Trump, will also break tradition by not inviting her successor, Jill Biden, to take a private tour of the White House before the transfer of command, according to local media revealed on Tuesday.
"Melania Trump will become the first modern first lady not to invite the woman who will replace her in the White House to take a tour of the private rooms on the second and third floors," said an article released by CNN.
The version indicated that this breaks with a tradition that dates back to the meeting between Bess Truman, the wife of Harry S. Truman (1945-1953) and Mamie Eisenhower, wife of Dwight David Eisenhower (1953-1961), and It was followed by Laura Bush, whose daughters, Jenna and Barbara Bush, showed Sasha and Malia Obama "how to slide down the railing of the residence."
Private plane
Biden said a tearful goodbye Tuesday to Delaware, her home state and the one she represented for more than three decades in the Senate, before flying to Washington.
She gave a brief speech before heading to the US capital, where she departed in a private plane, instead of a government plane, as is the tradition for presidents-elect, according to CNN.
The transition team did not clarify why Biden did not use one of the presidential planes that are usually made available to elected leaders for their trip to the capital.
A source from her team explained to CNN that it was the president-elect who made the decision to use her private plane, and that it was not due to a lack of courtesy on the part of the outgoing Donald Trump Administration.
Biden's initial plan was to travel by train, the means of transportation he used daily during his many years in the Senate to return home to Wilmington, Delaware, but his team ruled out that possibility for security reasons, after the assault on the Capitol of last January 6.
