Prince Harry snubbed his grandmother on her birthday, but ...

Prince Harry has returned to the United States. He took a plane this Tuesday, April 20, the eve of Queen Elizabeth II's birthday. A very sad birthday this year.

Elizabeth II is 95 years old this Wednesday, April 21. In 74 years, this is the first birthday she will spend without Prince Philip by her side. Due to the coronavirus and the mourning period, the day's festivities have been canceled. Buckingham hasn't even posted a new photo of the Queen on social media. However, a message of thanks was published. There will be no cannon fire. There won't be a big family meal. And there won't be Prince Harry either. The latter returned Tuesday to Meghan Markle and Archie in the United States. But if he is not present for his grandmother's birthday, he was still able to see her in private during his stay in England.

According to Harper's Bazaar, Prince Harry was able to see Queen Elizabeth II privately on at least two occasions in nine days. It was the first time the two had seen each other in person and had spoken to each other since the explosive interview at Oprah Winfrey's. We do not know what exactly was discussed, but certainly not the disputes between them lately. The sole purpose of this family reunion was to honor the memory of Prince Philip and to share the pain of mourning. "The family put those questions aside to focus on what really mattered," said a relative of the Duke of Sussex.

Trooping The Color parade is canceled

Prince Harry will also not be present for the Queen's "second" birthday. And for good reason, Meghan will be about to give birth to their baby girl. As tradition dictates, the monarch will celebrate her birthday a second time on the second Saturday in June. It will be June 12. Or two days after what should have been Prince Philip's 100th birthday. Buckingham Palace had already announced in March that the grand Trooping The Color parade was canceled due to the coronavirus. A ceremony in the gardens of Windsor Castle was still possible. But in the meantime, the queen's husband has passed away.
