Bill Gates' wife Melinda shares private wedding photo
Melinda Gates, wife of Microsoft founder and business magnate Bill Gates, has shared an unseen wedding photo from their 1994 wedding on social media.
Melinda and Bill, who are the richest couple in the world, with an estimated combined wealth of $85.7 billion, are notoriously private and the image above is the first they have released from their New Year’s Day wedding, which was shrouded in secrecy.
In it, a then 29-year-old Melinda is seen as a happy bride dancing with her new father-in-law.
Melinda captioned the photograph, “To the other Bill Gates in my life:
“I am so indebted to you—for raising my husband, for being a warm and caring grandfather to our children, and for spending the past few decades building the Foundation with us. The world is a whole lot better because you were born ninety years ago. You are an inspiration to me! Happy birthday.”
The only other glimpse the world has seen of the power-couple’s big day was the image below, of a glowing Bill and Melinda walking down the aisle after saying their vows, which was featured in documentary about Bill, which aired on the
Melinda, who this year celebrated her twenty first wedding anniversary Bill, appears to be as much in love with her billionaire beau as the day they wed. She regularly posts affectionate images, many of them previously unreleased, and comments on her Facebook page.
Most recently, to celebrate Bill’s 60th birthday on October 29 (2015), Melinda posted yet another happy snap of the couple on a canoe ride and, in the caption, she shared a rare insight into the moment Bill first asked her on a date,
“When Bill first asked me out, he said, “I was thinking maybe we could go out two weeks from tonight.” I told him he wasn’t spontaneous enough for me.So he called me an hour later to suggest we get together that night. He asked: ‘Is that spontaneous enough for you?’”
Who knew Bill was such a romantic?
