Keanu Reeves and his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, a story that consolidates and does not hide

The actor, very jealous of her privacy, poses with the artist in Berlin, where he has returned to work after a hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic

It was learned that they were a couple last November but theirs came from afar. Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant have been dating for a long time and theirs is a consolidated relationship that they no longer hide. Last weekend the couple was seen in Berlin with several actors from the cast of The Matrix 4, including Carrie-Anne Moss. Together they posed for photographers before entering a popular restaurant in the city for dinner. The film, which also stars Neil Patrick Harris and Jonathan Groff, recently resumed filming in the German capital after production was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Production in San Francisco had been completed prior to closing.

Reeves and Grant went public with their romance in November, holding hands at a red carpet event in Los Angeles after several years together. When her personal life became known, Grant recounted that she received countless phone calls from many friends and acquaintances. "I think everyone I met called me in the first week of November, and that's fascinating," the artist told Vogue in March. She but she was reserved when she was asked if marriage was something she contemplated. "With a glass of wine ... I'd love to tell you," she joked at the time. “Love on all levels is very important to me. How is that to avoid the question? I don't think isolation is the way. There is a period of isolation that I do as a painter, but I deeply value the experience of being in relationship ”.

Grant is 46 years old, she is a Los Angeles based artist who graduated from Swarthmore College, a mid-19th century college located south of Philadelphia. During her childhood and adolescence, the artist spent long periods in Mexico, France and Spain. Different museums preserve the work of this artist, such as the LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the Blanton Museum (Austin, Texas) or the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto, Canada). In addition, she has exhibited in various galleries in her city.

Reeves and Grant had been seen hanging out together on a few occasions, especially the last few weeks of fall. But they have known each other for at least a decade. The two had collaborated on a couple of books by X Artists' Books: Ode to Happiness (An ode to happiness, published in 2011), their first work, and Shadows (Sombras, 2016). In them, the actor wrote poetic texts and the artist put the illustrations. In fact, that is one of her jobs: drawing on the words of others and then bringing them to life through drawings, illustrations, sculptures or even video installations. Their collaboration has led to them being seen together on more occasions, such as at Art Basel, in Switzerland, or at an exhibition in Paris where they presented their book.

In addition to being an artist and entrepreneur, Grant is also a philanthropist and has created the GrantLOVE project. Through it, she has obtained funds for different solidarity associations in the city of Los Angeles, thanks to the sale of works of art that she herself creates.

Keanu Reeves' life has little to do with his victorious characters and much more to do with the survivors who must earn personal balance and stability. Yes, he is a Hollywood star, he is known worldwide and he is one of the highest paid actors in the film industry, but he is also the personification of the antidive and a committed man who, without fuss or the need for his name to appear anywhere, allocates part of his fortune to help social causes.

The loss of loved ones and cancer are two concepts that appear repeatedly in his biography. After the disappearance of his father, Reeves experienced the illness of his little sister, who suffered a leukemia that he managed to overcome after months of treatment. When he started in the film industry, after giving up his passion for hockey due to a serious injury, he met River Phoenix, a filming partner in My Private Idaho, and from that moment one of his closest friends. An overdose of speedball - a mixture of cocaine and heroin - ended Phoenix's life on a sidewalk near a bar owned by Johnny Deep, an event that devastated Reeves and that has haunted him for years and has marked his character.
