Prince Harry accuses his father, Prince Charles, of making him "suffer"

Apple TV + unveiled, on Friday, May 21, the first episodes of The Me You Can't See, the series produced by Prince Harry, devoted to mental health. The Duke of Sussex is again confided in his disappointment vis-à-vis the royal family he accuses of "negligence".

Umpteenth blow to the royal family. Prince Harry once again questions his family's lack of empathy for him and his wife Meghan Markle in a documentary series he co-produced with Oprah Winfrey. Entitled The Me You Can't See ("The Me You Can't See"), the program, available since Friday May 21 on Apple TV +, highlights mental health by sharing the testimonies of personalities who have experienced mental disorders, such as singer Lady Gaga.

"It is not because you have suffered that your children have to suffer"

The youngest son of Prince Charles and Lady Diana returned to his childhood, the death of his mother, the hell of the tabloids, but also the neglect of his family regarding his mental health problems. "I thought my family would help me, but all the requests, requests, signals sent met with silence or total neglect," he explained in the documentary series, referring in particular to the difficulties of the Sussexes before the birth of their son, Archie.

Prince Harry also questioned the cold and distant upbringing of his father, Prince Charles. “When I was younger, my father used to say to William and me, 'It was like that for me, so it will be the same for you,' he continued. Prince Harry is keen to denounce firmly: "It is not because you have suffered that your children must suffer too. It should even be the opposite. (...) Do all you can to turn it into something positive. the bad experiences you have had. ”

During the program, Prince Harry also shed light on the sense of helplessness he felt at the death of his mother, and his desire to "break the cycle" so that he would never relive this traumatic event. The series was put online, moreover, the day after the publication of a report questioning the “deceptive” methods of a BBC journalist, who had won an interview with Princess Diana in 1995. The reporter in question, Martin Bashir, has since apologized to the royal family.

It has now been more than a year since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced, to everyone's surprise, their intention to leave their royal duties and triggered this separation described as Megxit by the press. The couple later moved to California, where Meghan Markle is from. Since then, relations between Prince Harry and his clan have continued to deteriorate. The Duke of Sussex's new revelations risk stoking tensions with the Windsors.
