This will be the celebration for the 70 years of the reign of Elizabeth II
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are expected to participate in the festivities
Elizabeth II will be on long tablecloths in 2022, when her platinum jubilee celebrations take place, which will commemorate her 70 years on the throne of the United Kingdom. It will be in February of the year that she comes when she turns seven decades as queen, a date that according to her subjects, she deserves to be celebrated in a big way.
Despite the absence of Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the celebrations will not be discreet or austere, not even in terms of the guests. In fact, it is expected the presence of Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, who at the moment do not have a very close relationship with the British royal family.
Buckingham Palace has just revealed some details of the celebration:
- The Platinum Jubilee celebrations will take place June 2-5, 2022.
- The first event will be the now traditional Trooping the Color military parade, which year after year celebrates the birthday of Queen Elizabeth, who was born on April 21, 1926. This event generally takes place on the second Saturday in June, but on this occasion the date was changed to include it in the Jubilee.
- As always, this parade is expected to be watched by members of the royal family from the palace balcony and that includes Harry and Meghan. After their break with the British monarchy, the Dukes of Sussex had avoided this event thanks to the pandemic, which drastically reduced the number of participants in public royal events. But next year it is believed that it will be impossible that they are not present.

The jubilee will not only be celebrated in Great Britain, but in all Commonwealth countries. For this reason, several members of the royal family are expected to travel to those nations on behalf of the queen. In this sense, Prince Harry will not be able to make any of these trips as he is not an "active" member of royalty.
