LEARN HOW TO CUT YOUR HAIR WITH THE HELP OF JENNIFER ANISTON'S STYLIST IN 'FRIENDS'

You can do it yourself from home and without messing it up

Our house during the quarantine is turning out to be quite an experiment center. We are rediscovering new facets of ourselves that we have not yet seen: cooks, singers, social entertainers in our neighborhood, and even hairdressers.

If you are one of those who are tired of seeing their hair grow and grow and do not know what to do so that the change of look is not a total disaster, now you can learn to dye it step by step or, if you are already happy with your hair color , sign up for one of the trends of the season: cut your bangs. Artists like Dua Lipa and RosalĂa have already joined this haircut. You dare?

Now you can do it yourself by following the advice given on the Ellen DeGeneres show by hairstylist Chris McMillan, who is behind Jennifer Aniston's iconic layered cut on her stage as Rachel Green on Friends. All you need is kitchen scissors, take note!

Hair must be dry. Never wet. "You need to wash and dry your hair, and then start cutting. When you cut your hair yourself, you want to see where it's going to fall," explains Chris McMillan. If you trim your hair while it's wet, drying it later will make it much shorter than you want it to be.

Before using the scissors, make sure not to overstretch your hair. Bring your bangs to your nose, but don't stretch your hair too far before deciding where to cut it. "The less tension you put, the better it will fit you," clarifies the stylist.

He cuts the bangs in layers. McMillan recommends separating it into two layers and beginning by cutting at the bottom first.

Start with the tips. From there, go over little by little. "If you cut a large piece where you think you want it, you will regret it; it will not be like that and it will be shorter," says McMillan.

He smooths out the ends. To finish, he evens the bangs with gentle downward strokes with one of the edges. "We are no longer trying to make any major changes, we just trim gently," concludes the stylist.
