The shocking video of Tom Cruise jumping into the void on a motorcycle on the set of "Mission: Impossible 7"
The actor is filming the seventh installment of the action saga and a scene has been leaked in which he stars in a dangerous stunt from the top of Helsetkopen in the municipality of Stranda, Norway
At 58, Tom Cruise is still doing his own stunts. This time he jumped off a speeding motorcycle down an endless ramp to launch himself into the void. Within hours of the video recorded in Norway, where Cruise films Mission Impossible 7, the dangerous action scene went viral on Twitter.
Once again, the actor proves that no mission is impossible for him.
The video shows a shocking sequence in which Cruise rides a motorcycle at full speed down a walkway built into the side of a mountain. When the ramp is finished, he continues forward and falls into the void with his motorcycle while a parachute is opened.
The images, recorded on the edge of the Helmet open mountain in the municipality of Stranda (Norway), have been captured from the camera of a helicopter and a drone.
It is not the first time that Cruise has put himself in danger for the Mission: Impossible franchise, through epic scenes in which he often does not use double. In the third installment, Ghost Protocol, he hung himself from the tallest building in the world.
The director himself, Christopher McQuarrie, published hours before a photograph of the filming set of this extreme and spectacular sequence to announce the restart of filming after more than five months on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The intention of the director and Paramount Pictures, responsible for the saga, is to shoot not only the remainder of the seventh installment of Mission: Impossible, but also the eighth installment of the franchise.
The premiere of Mission: Impossible 7 is scheduled for November 19, 2021, while the eighth installment will be released on November 4, 2022. Before that, in July of next year, Cruise will premiere Top Gun: Maverick, the long-awaited sequel to the movie that made him famous in the 80s.
Cruise obtained permission to shoot parts of the film in Norway without having to follow quarantine requirements. However, the Variety site reported that the production hired two cruise ships to house the entire team and keep them separate from the locals.
Weeks ago, the actor also made headlines for another dangerous stunt that he shot without stuntmen on the outskirts of England. The incredibly dangerous stunt was recorded on a former air base in Oxfordshire. Both the actor and the motorcycle were secured to a cable, but it was still a high-stakes scene.
Cruise once again showcased his talent for taking these types of shots.
The actor returned to action after several months without working as a result of the coronavirus pandemic that stopped all Hollywood productions.
Cruise has shown over the years that he is not afraid of anything and that only he can star in those incredible cinematic sequences. It should be remembered that in 2018 during the filming of Mission Impossible 6 in London he suffered an accident while jumping from one building to another. He ended up with a broken ankle and a few days off set. But then he came back and picked up the scene that left him badly hurt.
