Prince Harry's Possible Departure from US if Trump Returns to the White House

British TV presenter Dan Wootton expressed apprehension over Prince Harry's future in the United States in the event of Donald Trump's return to the presidency.

During his show on GB News, Wootton suggested that "Prince Harry could face swift expulsion from the US" as the US government refused to release the Duke's immigration documents in response to a request made by the Heritage Foundation.

The Heritage Foundation sought access to Harry's visa application after the Duke of Sussex admitted in his book to using illicit drugs in the past. The comments by Wootton came shortly after a US court heard the case filed by the conservative think tank.

The Heritage Foundation argued that there is significant public and press interest in the release of Harry's immigration file. However, the government responded by stating that while there may be some public interest, it is not currently convinced of a compelling need to disclose the records.

The think tank's complaint referenced previous instances where celebrities like the late football star Maradona and the late singer Amy Winehouse were denied entry into the US due to their history of drug use.

The US authorities previously rejected a request by the Heritage Foundation to release Harry's immigration records, citing the lack of his consent.

Visa applicants to the US are typically questioned about their past drug use, and entry can be denied, although exceptions and waivers can be granted.

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, who is an American citizen, relocated to the United States in January 2020 after stepping back from their royal duties.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump faced legal troubles as he was recently arrested and charged with mishandling classified documents. The former president appeared in a federal courthouse on June 13 and was arraigned in front of magistrate judge Jonathan Goodman, according to the New York Times.
