Kate Middleton's Grocery Run: The Duchess Spotted Shopping for Her Three Kids in Windsor

The Wales family enjoys an idyllic life in their Riverside town, where locals extend the much-needed respect and privacy to their royal neighbors. Their children attend the prestigious Lambrook School, allowing them to grow up relatively normally, just like their peers.

Recently, the mother of three has reportedly been spotted in Windsor with her children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. According to locals, "We live just across the road, and they go in and out through the back gate. Their doorbell will let them in quickly." One local added, "The princess comes here quite often; it’s right on her doorstep, and Adelaide Cottage is just a couple of hundred yards away. They were at the tennis on Sunday, and my friend plays there. Catherine was watching the children; they were all there at the same time."

Prince William's health-conscious wife, the Princess of Wales, fills her diet with nutrient-rich foods, but she enjoys a sugary snack just like the rest of us. Since marrying into the royal family, her food shopping trips have become less frequent due to heightened security needs. Like all parents promoting healthy eating, she likely prefers to keep sweets out of reach from her three children.

Recently, Catherine Middleton was seen popping into the Peach's Spare store near her family's home in Bucklebury, Berkshire. Store owners Hash Shadia and Chan reported, "She came in with her mother and bought Harrods products. She also picked up French bread, ham, salami, cream, and eggs, along with her favorite magazines."

Another interesting story about the princess's shopping experiences involves a relatable blunder. Catherine once tried to buy a wetsuit but realized she had forgotten her purse, leaving her unable to pay. Oblivious shopkeeper Dave Buckland then asked for her name. When he inquired if she could reserve the wetsuit to collect later, she humorously replied with "Mrs. Cambridge," a nod to their then-title of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. An unnamed source recalled, "He was looking straight at her and actually commented that it was quite an unusual surname. He hadn’t a clue who she was." Catherine just smiled and noted that he hasn't lived it down since.

This wasn’t the last time Catherine faced an awkward moment while out shopping. On another occasion, she was out with her two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, buying new school shoes for them at Peter Jones in London. Allegedly, Catherine forgot to bring socks for the children to try on their new shoes. Since they were shopping in the summer, the two were wearing sandals, and Catherine had to borrow socks from the shop to ensure they purchased the right sizes.

The mother of three has been seen picking up essential groceries at her local supermarket on several occasions, including Kingsley Sainsbury's and Waitrose. The newlywed Duchess of Cambridge was spotted in 2011 sporting skinny jeans when she visited a shop near her home in Anglesey during Prince William's last months as a search and rescue pilot with the Royal Air Force. It was noted that the royal loaded all her shopping into her car herself, with her protection officer nearby.

Since then, Catherine has been seen at Waitrose in Norfolk during her pregnancy with Prince Louis, undoubtedly picking up high-quality fresh ingredients, including pickles and avocados to satisfy her pregnancy cravings, and packing them into her reusable bags. The King's daughter-in-law occasionally changes up her shopping routine, sometimes visiting Sainsbury's. She was seen at a Kings Lynn branch during the pandemic, close to the royal family’s Sandringham estate, which houses the Wales family’s country retreat, Anmer Hall. Catherine was spotted browsing the aisles with her reportedly well-behaved children.

During another supermarket sweep, the royal was seen picking up last-minute Halloween decorations and costumes for George and Charlotte. In August 2011, she was spotted getting some items from Tesco. The princess looked strikingly normal, pushing her trolley in the car park while wearing a deep purple jumper and a printed scarf. Reports indicated that she had picked up veggies, milk, chicken, and Häagen-Dazs ice cream.
