Jenny Slate Defends Blake Lively Amid Controversy: Calls Attack 'Dark' and 'Disturbing'
Jenny Slate, co-star of *It Ends with Us*, has come out in full support of her close friend Blake Lively following the actress's allegations of sexual harassment against the film's director and co-star, Justin Baldoni.
In an interview on Monday, Slate shared her thoughts on the serious claims made by Lively, offering her unwavering support to the *Gossip Girl* star in light of the accusations.
Speaking with *Today.com*, Jenny said, “As Blake Lively’s castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation.”
The 42-year-old *Gifted* actress described Blake as a “trusted friend” and “leader,” emphasizing how important Lively has been to her. Slate referred to the attack on Blake as “dark” and “disturbing.”
She continued, “Blake is a leader, loyal friend and a trusted source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her. What has been revealed about the attack on Blake is terribly dark, disturbing, and wholly threatening. I commend my friend, I admire her bravery, and I stand by her side.”
In *It Ends with Us*, Slate played Allysa, the sister of Justin Baldoni’s character and the sister-in-law of Lively’s character.
For context, Blake Lively, wife of Ryan Reynolds, filed a formal complaint against Baldoni, accusing the 40-year-old filmmaker of harassment and retaliation.
