Prince William Embarks on Landmark Trip to Estonia, Leaving Kate Middleton Behind
The Prince of Wales has set off on his first international trip of the year, leaving the Princess of Wales behind as he undertakes a significant milestone visit.
Prince William, 42, arrived in Estonia on March 20 for a two-day solo visit, marking his first official foreign engagement of 2025. While Kate Middleton remained in the U.K., the Prince made it clear that he was embracing the journey.
“Great to be visiting Estonia for the first time! Looking forward to an exciting two days here,” William said enthusiastically.
During his visit, Prince William is scheduled to meet Estonia’s President, Alar Karis, with discussions expected to focus on the ongoing war in Ukraine and regional security concerns. His itinerary also includes a meeting with British troops stationed in Estonia under Operation Cabrit, a key NATO initiative designed to bolster security in Eastern Europe.
“Operation Cabrit is the name of the U.K. operational deployment to Estonia, where British troops are leading a multinational battlegroup as part of the enhanced Forward Presence (eFP),” the British Army stated.
Beyond military engagements, Prince William will also explore Estonia’s advancements in renewable energy and its strategies for tackling the region’s ongoing energy crisis. As Estonia continues to position itself as a leader in sustainable innovation, William’s visit underscores the importance of international cooperation in addressing global challenges.
Additionally, the Prince of Wales is expected to meet Ukrainian refugees who have resettled in Estonia, gaining firsthand insight into their experiences and the country’s humanitarian response.
This milestone trip highlights Prince William’s growing role on the international stage, reinforcing his commitment to diplomatic efforts, military alliances, and humanitarian causes.
