The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have just renewed their multimillion-dollar contract with the streaming giant, and a source says they’re “over the moon” about it. This renewal means Netflix now has first refusal on any show ideas the couple comes up with — meaning Netflix gets first dibs before anyone else.
Piers, never one to stay quiet about the Sussexes, reposted a tweet from Have I Got News For You that poked fun at the deal. The joke was that rival streaming services were “frustrated” because they wanted the rights to say no to Harry and Meghan’s pitches first.
This comes years after Harry and Meghan stepped away from royal duties in 2020, moving to California with their son Archie and later welcoming their daughter Lilibet.
Their departure was followed by explosive interviews, where they accused the Royal Family of racism and poor treatment.
